Need a Source for a Thermal Well

Thu Dec 27, 2007 7:32 pm

Guys,

I'm planning on upgrading my 10 Gal HLT cooler to include a heating element and thermal well. I'm having a tough time finding thermal wells that would work. Is there anyone out there that might have a good source?

Being a cheap SOB, I would make my own out of a piece of copper tubing. Just cut it to length, pinch one end shut and seal with with silver solder. Cheap and easy and can be made to any length and diameter you want.

When I made mine (how-to on www.wortomatic.com) I just used a length of 3/8" steel tubing and crimped the end with a vice and a drop of silicone. Has worked well for years.

In fact, I think I have a few feet left over...

I was having the same problem....no one had them in stock....and B3 was out (still is) for over 2 months. A guy over on the B3 forum posted THIS. Go about 3/4th's the way down the page.
