New Kettle Old Burner

Fri Dec 07, 2007 11:35 am

I bought a turkey fryer that came with an aluminum kettle. I now have a 30qt stainless steel kettle to replace the old kettle. I noticed that it takes longer to boil the same amount of water in the new kettle as the old, I do not know the specific time. Would one of those 55,000 btu burners be better. like from More Beer? Are those kinds of burners more efficient?
Thanks in advance.

Whether the B3 one will be better depends on what your original burner is like. No matter what burner you have, the SS pot will always take longer than the Aluminum pot - heat transfer is just not as good through SS.

I do not remember what my current burner btu's are. I was trying to use common sense, (yeah right  ) and think that brewers were the ones that designed the new burners and made them more efficient. I will try to find the btu's, but I am not promising anything, I bought it about 6 months ago.
