Two Stage Controller and Heat/Cooling

Tue Nov 06, 2007 12:48 pm

Ok, here is my question silly or not. I have a mini kegerator, but I am thinking about getting a double temp controller robot thingy. Obviously I don't want to ferment in the kegerator while having ready beer in there. So, can I rig a deal where the temp probe is strapped and covered on the carboy and hook up a fan and a heater to the temp controller robot thingy to switch on and off? Is there an elegant solution for this? Build a box and have both in there or some deal thing like that?

Any other options? Give it to me.

Thanks.

I onced researched the same question. The truth is is that getting the thermowell, digital thermostat, and fermwrap actually cost more than just buying another cheap fridge or chest freezer like on craigslist and an analog thermostat.
Even if you decide to get the heater and the thermostat it might not even be able to heat enough to counteract the coldness of the fridge. I would just get another refrigeration unit.
