Igloo Cooler problems

Hi y'all.

I'm trying to make an Igloo cooler mash/lauter tun and have made the tubings for the inside. Now heres the problem. I drilled a hole for the tube to exit. I was recomended to use teflon tape to seal up the hole with but so far and severel rolls of tape later I still can't get a tight seal. What are you guys sealing with?
I don't want to use non foodgraded materials.

What kind of system are you trying to put in? Braided steel, perforated false bottom, copper manifold? And how is it leaving the mash tun? Ball valve or just a tube heading out with a clamp?

Well its about a 1m long 10mm thick cobber tube theres been bendt into an 8 and with cuts perforated half way through the tube like shown below and then with a hard bend and tubing with no perforation to go out the side of the cooler. Think you guys call it a Bazooka tube.. not sure there.

The tube is suppose to go out the middle of the front and into a ball valve but it's the "out of the front" thing thats causing the problem with the leak.
I made the hole through the side 10mm as well so there shouldn't be that many problems.. in theory but there is so I want to get a kind of sealent that may help.

Note he does not seem to be using any fittings, just copper tube through the hole.

Well I will be using a fitting from the tube that comes out the cooler to the ball valve, but that is outside the cooler and as such not in contact with the inner of the cooler.
But I think that might be a solution worth consitering there BUB... Maybe cram a 11mm cobber fitting around the 10mm tube with some teflon tape inbetween and then in to the hole with a bit of force...
