Binford 6100 Wort O Matic Question

Your controller looks great and I am going to take a shot at building my version of the Binford 6100.

I have a question regarding your wiring diagram. Your wiring diagram looks like you can switch from Thermal to Liquid Leveling when your pump is in the Auto mode. If I read the schematic correctly, your Thermal and Liquid indicator lights should be on at all times, even if your pump (on-Off-Auto) switch is in the off position.



In one of your pictures you seem to show the pump selector switch in the Off position and the Thermal and Liquid indicator lights are off. Am I reading your schematic incorrectly or have you changed your design to allow this?

I'm not trying to be a jerk, but there are numerous problems with that schematic. The voltmeter, for example, is incorrectly wired. So are the lamps at the top for the thermostats and the level meter.

Hi guys,

Okay, lemme clarify. First that drawing is only showing the hot side of the circuit so do not take it as gospel. It shows the relationship between the high lead and the indicator lamps more than anything and yes, they are wired as it shows. It is *not* incorrect, but how it was designed. (Code, you jerk. )

I have been meaning to make a "working" online model of the panel so people can flip switches and see the result, but my time is not entirely my own.

I think the thing most people stumble on is the three indicators across the top... they are really just for show and are always on. It is the lower indicators that are really showing status. Make sense?

I'm sorry, brey', I thought I did answer that. If you are talking about the three large green indicators, yes -- they are always on, however if you mean the smaller ones, then no.

Perhaps these pictures will clear it up. Can't wait to see what you build!

I follow the diagram, but it looks like from your diagram that either the Level or Thermal light should alway be on regardless of the position your ON/Off/Auto switch is in. In the picture I posted, it looks like that is not the case and that when your On/Off/Auto switch is in the Off position, your Level and Thermal lights are not illuminated. Following your diagram, that should not be the case, so I wanted to know if you physically wired your controller differently as indicated in your diagram to enable this behavior.

Sorry for the posts, its a minor question as I understand your basic idea/wiring.
