Diffusion stones

Any recommendations on the 2 micron versus 0.5 micron diffusion stone? I'm planning on getting the aeration system from Williams Brewing and using an O2 tank, but I'm not sure which stone would be better. I've read that the 2 micron clogs up easily.

Mine doesn't. They claim mathematically the .05 works better, smaller bubbles and whatnot. Unless you are using a dissolved ox meter, I don't think matters much.

Thanks for the reply. I just realized I wrote the wrong thing... It was the .5 that I've heard clogs up more due to the smaller holes. Either way, I'll probably go with the 2 micron.

I use a 2 and it makes beer. A lot of folks use the .5 and I don't know of a lot of clogging. Personally, I think no stone at all would work but might waste O2. Anyway... you'll see.

I've got a .5 and it's never clogged. Important not to touch the stone with your fingers though, the oils and dirt on your hands will clog it.

Iv got the .5, i haven't had any problem with clogging. After I brew I soak it in PBW overnight, rinse and then boil for 10 minutes, then store in a ziplock bag.
