Got mine from a hard drive too. Just ask around and youll be surprised how easy it is to find somone with an old hard drive.

When I first started looking for a hard drive magnet i thought it had to be one of those old school hard drive magnets the size of your thumb. You could probaly run a stir plate from across the room with one of those.

I actually have an old hard drive. I'm assuming once I open it up it's pretty obvious, eh?

the magnets I used were under the short portion of the "arm" aka the part behind the platters.
You'll figure it out.... have a paper clip available and you will know where the strong ass magnets are.... also BEWARE try not to get the 2 magnets stuck together as it takes MUCH strength to pull them apart...
Ask me how I know.

You can use rare earth magnets too. I found them at woodworkers supply.
You may want to check Mcmaster Carr too. They may carry them.
