Are these buckets food grade?? Is the fact that they turn my starsan solution orangey/brown bad? they are cheap and I use them for PBW and Starsan. Would they work for bottling??

If they leach color into your star San I'd say that they are not food grade.

Give them a smell as well. If it smells like plastic I'd stay away from it. Also if the are made from LDPE. My understanding is, that HDPE and PP are food grade materials.

If they smell of anything, I would stay clear of putting beer in em. But I do use em for grain.

I use one as a grain hopper. Seems fine... But, as other have said, if it leeches orange, don't use it.

If you have a Lowes nearby, just pick up this one. It's definitely food grade.
