Looking for thermal jacket recommendations for mash-tun

Thu Sep 28, 2006 11:14 am

My mashtun is a converted keg, and I would like to do something to assist in keeping the temperature constant (as best I can) over the full hour; are there any recommendations for material used to create a jacket?
Thanks,

Wrapping it with heavy duty aluminum foil works too. An old sleeping bag is another. As long as your not going to be heating it anytime during the mash.

I use a duct insulation found a Home De'Pot. It's got a sticky backing on one side and foil on the other. Inbetween is a rubbery foam-like stuff.

The water heater stuff works well, too. Just don't melt it
