Local homebrew clubs are a great place to find used equipment, there is always someone that is upgrading their setup. Often guys will sell stuff a bit cheaper than they'd ask for on Craigslist if it's going to a fellow club member.

Well guys looking at the name my guess would be that sf bay area. My bet on a local club would be doze. I all ways recomend this link for starting out cheap http://hbd.org/cascade/dennybrew/ .

If you can't find anything used, you can always buy the Igloo coolers from Walmart and the rest of the stuff to make your mash tun at homebrew shops or hardware stores. I'm going to be batch sparging so it will be cheaper for equipment.
