Wall dispenser for cleaning/sanitizing products

Is it possible to hook up this to any sanitizer/cleanser so you dont have to make a bucket everytime and dump most of the product out?Image

I guess you will have to dial it in for the right ratio of water/san/clean and lower the pressure for the water so it wont foam up a lot.

You can simplify things even more by filling a spray bottle with the appropriate water to sanitizer/cleanser ratio and spray the surface of whatever you need to sanitize. As long as you have a clean surface to sanitize all you need is contact time and the sanitizer does the rest. You will save lots of water and more importantly sanitizer which we all know isn't cheap. I brew about 3 times a month and can usually get by using half an ounce of Star San for everything from sanitizing carboys, hoses, bottling buckets and bottles.

I do use a spray bottle, and every time I brew (1-2 per month) I change the contents of it. Maybe I am over doing the sanitizer procedures, bcause I oftern fill a 5g bucket and immerse all my tubing, racking canes, funnels, strainers and leave it there and also put my hand in it when I am about to touch anything post boil.

If you are immersing equipment in the bucket when do you use the spray bottle?

As long as nothing is entering your spray bottle then you are safe to keep the same mixture in there for months. Unless it has turned really cloudy there is no need to dump it. Jon Herskovitz from Five Star says it will last a few months as long as you have it sealed.

Filling up a 5 gallon bucket works just fine but its really a lot more water than you need. And it's a pain in the ass to move it from Point A to Point B. The sanitizer can really only come into contact with what little surface area you are dealing with on your equipment, so the other 4.5 gallons or whatever that doesn't come into contact with a surface is unnecessary. For the hoses I typically spray the outside and then spray the inside and make sure to rotate the hose so that the sanitize comes into contact with all the plastic.

the bottle is for the surfaces, hands, bottles, carboy neck, i use it for bottling/kegging a lot, you can never spray too much i guess.

I usually mix up 10g or so at a time and store it in one I those 18g plastic containers for months(think the longest was 6) without problem. It doesn't become a big issue to move either, I picked up a movers dolly from harbor freight that fits perfectly. The one thing I'm kicking myself about is not putting a bulkhead and valve on to make transferring to kegs easier.

It's a nice option if you want to let your parts soak and reuse the sanitizer.

It is a good idea. I tried to find out accuracy of dilution, as I do not want to lose any batches to over or under sanitizing solutions. No luck.

Nice idea.

Your starsan solution will last much longer if mixed with distilled water.
