I've got one of those boards. I've so far only used it in testing but I'm slowly getting everything else in my control system put together.

They have a PLC firmware they can put on it but sadly they won't distribute the firmware for you to flash yourself, so if you want to change you have to send the board to them.

edit: You can find them on amazon too (http://amzn.to/v0PClb), I think the price is a bit higher but there are some reviews to read

Here's a site that sells something plug-n-play that will accept a K-type thermocouple (it even comes with one). I also have seen some things on ebay for around $15 dollars that look like a flash drive with a wire and probe off the side but I'm not sure how robust or waterproof those might be.

Obviously if you want anything more complex or anything, that will take more money or something beyond plug-n-play.

The Fermonitor® is a digital instrument that continuously monitors the progress of batch fermentation (up to 4 fermentations at once). The instrument conveniently interfaces with a PC to allow users to keep a close eye on yeast activity, %alcohol, %sugar, %attenuation and specific gravity. Batches can be saved and catalogued for future reference. The Fermonitor® greatly enhances the brewing experience while also quenching the brewer's thirst for more information during this critical, but sometimes "mysterious" stage of the brewing process.

The mysterious part is right, but it really refers to the mystery of if that product will actually ever be released. The guy first started talking about it in 2008 and every year it is "coming soon next year"
