Wide Mouth Screw Top Bottles

Thu Jan 27, 2011 12:26 pm

Does any one know where you can get amber wide mouth screw top PET bottles. Like the onese miller lite uses. I see them at sporting events all the time. Just thinking these would make good quick on the fly bottles to take to parties or picnics. Easy to fill from the keg as the wide mouth would prevent as much foam over. I see NB has 500ml screw tops but there narrow neck and mouth.

I don't think you will find bottles like that at any brew store. Try a growler or 1/2 gallon amber jug. They are bigger thin i think your looking for but thats all I know of.

The guy at my homebrew shop, who is well known in the brewing community, recommends soda bottles all the time. In his own words "They aren't pretty, but effective." If you were going to bottle them and drink them fast, it might work. Never tried it myself, but beer is less carbonated then soda, so they would definitely hold the pressure.

Those were the ones i mentioned in the first post the 500ml from NB. I was just looking for wide mouth bottles they would be easier to fill in a hurry.
