B3

Fri Jul 31, 2009 5:10 pm

What's with B3 these days? I've spent a bit of money with them in the past on equipment, but recently everytime I want to place an order, half of the items are out of stock. They sent an email today with gadgets on sale and some of those are even out of stock (plate filter, SS disconnects, bazooka screen, mini co2 regulator, corny lid with tab). It is difficult to order from them when so much is not available. I bought a march pump from them a couple of weeks ago and really need the ss disconnects, but haven't been able to get them. I've always liked their great selection, but I guess I'll have to go elsewhere. Any suggestions on another alternative?

They are probably inundated by all the little mom and pop LHBS biting the dust... Patience, grasshopper.

Have there been a lot of LHBS closing up? I always buy ingredients from my LHBS, but they don't have a broad selection of equipment.

I don't mean to bash B3. I've had good experiences with them in the past, and I certainly like to buy from those who support the BN. I'm just a little frustrated by not being able to get what I need/want.

Having seen B3 on the BNA4 tour, I now understand why they run out. It's a small warehouse and even smaller shop. Good thing a brewery is next door. . . :D

+1 The owner is a good friend of mine, he has a huge selection of malts and a pretty big warehouse.
