Home Walk-In Cooler

Sun May 10, 2009 4:35 pm

Hey Everyone,

I need a little advise. I'm buildiing a small walk-in cooler in my garage> I am using a 5000 BTU a/c unit with a Johnson temp controller. However, I nned to know how to disable the internal temp controller on the a/c unit. otherwise it will only cool to the temp on the unit itself verses the temp set on the johnson controller. Any of you out there in brew labd have experience with putting together one of these (cheep) setups? Or maybe an a/c guy that could give a brotha some insight?

Thanks in advance,

Bill

i have a walk in in my brew shed. my a/c unit was easy to mod. i took the face of the A/C unit, and unhooked the two wires that go into the thermostat. If these two wires plug into each other, awesome. If not, you will have to splice them together with a connector or wire nut, and simply reinstall the face and install.
