Ball valve on keggle

Sat Feb 21, 2009 7:41 pm

I have a couple of legally obtained sanke kegs and want to add ball valves to them. I'm not wild about using the weldless kits and would rather have a more permanent solution. B3 sells stainless couplers and threaded pipe nipples (he, he, I said nippes) and I was wondering if that's what I needed to get. Has someone out there done this?

The weld less kits work fine. I have both, weld less and welded couplers on my system. You will need to find a welder in your area who can weld stainless. That may cost you a few bucks. Some shops will do it for cheap. Some won't.

Husker try checking with this guy in kc that goes by swagman on the greenboard http://www.brewboard.com/index.php?showuser=5002. Great guy great sanitary welds and has couplers. Really does it for a cheap price homebrewer helping other homebrewers.

I'd go the weldless kit. It lets you pull it all to bits, quite handy for cleaning. It also gives you an excuese to buy more tools, like the steped drill bit I use for putting decent size holes in kegs.
