I just acquired an old Sears Coldspot upright frost-free freezer on Craigslist. Looks like it was made in the 70's or earlier. When I was cleaning it up, removing the shelves, etc., I began examining the wiring diagram on the rear of the freezer. I noticed that there was a heater in the door, in the door frame (stile heater), and a heater inside near the drain duct.
Has anyone wired up the defrost heaters to their two stage temperature controller to maintain steady temp and/or used them for heating the freezer in the winter time?
On a similar note, can you keep your fermentation chamber at lager temps for a lager, and then add a fermwrap to a carboy for a quick ale fermentation?
