plate chiller hose disconnects

I have been toying with the idea of getting the brass QD's for garden hose threads to put on my Shirron plate chiller. It's been such a PITA to undo the hose connections, as they always seem to bind up and require pliers. As I was placing my order with Morebeer, I realized the flow requirements necessitate I hook up the male end to the "in" side of the chiller. Well..... they're both male garden hose threads and I can't find a coupling to mate them. I have been using washing machine supply lines to resolve this (female on both ends), but if I have to use a hose for this, it defeats the purpose of the QD.

I'm trying to have a semi-permenant adapter on the chiller which can quickly and without tools accept a garden hose. Is there a coupling for this purpose? How about another company's hose QD? I have heard Harbor freight selld them, but are the flow demands the same? It would be ideal if I could just hook up the female ends of the QD on both ports of the chiller...
