Partially Melted Regulator Hose

Sun Nov 02, 2008 5:30 am

Last brew session, my propane regulator hose got too close to my kettle and partially melted. Any thoughts on how to replace it? Already tried a standard BBQ regulator and that did not work. The burner is the old CampChef 30 kBTU model.

Thnx for any suggestions. Talking to CampChef the replacement parts for the hose cost almost as much as a new 60 kBTU burner.

I had a regulator problem where gas was shooting back out and a flame was catching near the wind guard thing, I went inside to crush grains while the mash water was heating peeked out the window to see the regulator hose on fire!!! :asshat: Ran downstairs cut the gas gave the hose a little nudge and it fell right off! Luckily for me my buddy Paul drove over and let me use an old burner.

I called camp chef told them the situation and they sent me a new hose for free. Give them a ring, great customer service.

So far I've just traded e-mails with CampChef and its been somewhat unproductive. They've confirmed it'd be cheaper to buy a new stove if I had a 60KBTU burner. I currently have a 30KBTU burner that simply needs a low-pressure regulator, hose and needle-valve. Seems like I should be able to buy the parts. CampChef also confirmed the regulator is a 1 PSI regulator.

I'll try calling. In the meantime, I bought a new CampChef 60 KBTU burner from MoreBeer.
