I love it...I like to put it in my pants & rub m...uh...nevermind

It really is much easier for me than the counter pressure filler. Maybe I had a crappy cpf, but it was just such a pain in my ass. It had 3 different valves that I had to turn on and off for each bottle and the damb thing leaked like crazy.

I don't do any real prep w/ the gun, like chilling my bottles or anything. The paper that comes w/ it tells you to first turn your tank and keg down by half of serving pressure, about 6 psi for me, and fill a few and increase pressure for more speed until the foaming gets out of control. This method has worked great for me. I lose hardly any beer during the process. Maybe as much as I did w/ the old bucket and bottling stick method we all started with.

My vote is for the beer gun. Dande222 let me borrow his and one bottling session was all it took for me, I was sold. Now if I could only borrow some of his brewing skills I'll be doing alright.

Thanks all...

I just watched Plise´s video about the counterflow bottle fille and I was really excited. And if the beergun is as good, or even better, I think it will workout for me....

For an easy work around until you get your regulator problem figured out you can try this. Just disconnect the gas from the keg and bleed off a little pressure from the keg to drop it low enough to bottle without excessive foaming. When the pressure drops too low, just give the keg a little shot of CO2. You don't get a consistent flow pressure this way, but it is better than not being able to control the pressure at all. It will work until you get the regulator fixed.

By the way, I love my beer gun too.

What a great tool, one handed operation with hardly no foam. I love this thing and it sure does making bottling simple and easy. :bnarmy: :bnarmy: :bnarmy:

I love my Beer Gun, but yes, filling bottles with a highly carbonated beer can be a task. Keeping your kegs as cold as possible is pretty much a necessity. One trick I've found for filling bottles with highly carbonated beer: Fill until it foams over, let the residual bubbles rise (like when Guinness "cascades", the fill it until it overflows and cap that fucker quick. I've been able to carbonate beers to over 3.5 volumes and have perfect bottle fills that way. Granted, you generate more waste, but that can be solved by brewing larger batches

Cool, I´ll try to do that. Just got it, looks very nice. Next weekend is when we´ll be bottling. Right now I think we have something like 3 or 4 carboys to bottle.

One more thing:

I don´t own a cornelius type of keg yet, just the plain regular beer kegs. Beergun comes with hoses and conectors to attach to corneliuses....

Does anyone know how to make the beergun compatible with normal kegs? I was thinking about buying one of these barbs:

but I figured that although I could have the right screw for the keg couple/hose , the other end that attach itself to the smaller caliber hose (from the beergun) would not be small enough.

Any ideas?

Changing sizes in the hose like that will make the beer foam like mad. I'm not sure if they have a sanke tap that has barbs that small. Try to get your hands on a FOX catalog.
