I have never had a problem with Morebeer either. Although this last order was being processed for 4 days, usually its out the next day. I thought to myself, just my luck....JP must be pulling my order and trying to count to 12, we all know he can only get to eleven before he runs out of small appendages to count with.
Well, he must have finally gotten some help, my kegging stuff is on the way.
I have never really ordered much from Northern Brewer, but have been thinking I need to throw more business their way for also supporting the BN.

So not every single order is processed with complete efficiency and speed. Big fucking deal. They're only the largest homebrew supply in the world. If they are aware of a customer's problem, they will bend over backwards to make it right. No exceptions. And nobody does more to support homebrewers and their hobby. I've gotten so much free advice, free beer, free food, free ingredients and free swag from them, it ain't funny. I'm a loyal customer for life. B3 rocks.

I have had good luck the few times I have ordered from MoreBeer too. I tend to spread my purchases out between them, Northern Brewer, Williams Brewing, and Austin Homebrew. When I have an order big enough to justify the shipping charges it seems I have to shop around to see which one has everything on my list so I don't have to pay shipping from two different places. I have had excellent customer service from all of them.

I do the same as Bug, but add Midwest Supplies to that list as well as my 2 closest LHBS's.

It really pays to be on a first name basis with the LHBS folks (especially if they are good). And bring them some beer. Not just the crappy ones when you can't figure out what went wrong. Bring them the good stuff and good things come back to you.

+1

If I hadn't made friends with the LHBS guys, I might be in jail. If you have a good LHBS it can make your brewing life MUCH easier.

I'd like to point out that I buy all my ingredients locally and also many supplies, but I did make some more major purchases from Morebeer. The more sponsors that TBN gets the more challenging this is getting to make sure everyone gets a share!

Yes, I forgot to put Midwest Supplies on my list. Great service from them as well. There is no LHBS in my little village, but are two 30 miles away in opposite directions from me. One has a good selection of stuff but the owner is a real jerk. The other doesn't have as much stuff but he is great to work with. I take him some of my best stuff from time to time and suggest stuff for him to carry. In turn he orders most of that stuff and always lets me know in advance when he is going to have to raise prices on something so I can beat the price increase. He also supports our homebrew club with free or reduced prices on grain for our big brews. I buy from him when I can, paying a little more than I would online. You have to support your local guy as much as what makes sense to you. Some of his stuff is just too damned expensive compared to online prices even when shipping is included and he realizes that. Still I make sure that he gets a share of my business.
