You should be able to just pierce your nipples with the racking arm and save a step...

You may even try twisting your nipples into the racking arm. Your sure to get a nice tight fit.

I bought one of these conicals from a friend cheap. It too leaks from one nipple.

I got one and discovered no leaks. With a few upgrades I have planned for it, however, it will be great (like sanitary welded tri-clover fittings.). And for that price, there are worse things to spend money on.
