When I use whole hops I just toss them in the kettle loose.

Bug any problems using ball valve on kettle?
If I toss whole hopes in I usually end up putting my auto siphon in the kettle to get the wort out. I don't use a screen.
A man has ony 2 things in life his word and his balls or is that 3 things??

No problem at all with the ball valve, but that's because I don't have one. I use an autosiphon with a stainless steel scrubbie over the end to filter out the hops and break material. Works great for me.

The only time I use hop bags is for dry hopping. I also use them seam out and when finished I just dump the hops and the use a high pressure hose to clean it.

I do the same thing as BeerMan here too (I'm seeing a pattern in the forums. ) I also use the cheap cloth like bags. I get 4 for 1.50 or so. I don't have to mess with washing anything. Like a condom, just use and toss. :D
