Ive done something similar however ive used copper tube wrapped around the conical and the chilling goes into my keg-o-rator. it works great to maintain fermentation i can maintain 68f when my garage swings from 90f-60f however trying to cold crash the lowest i can achieve is 52f it wont go any cooler even though ive got my keg-o-rator down to 32f. any ideas? ive got inuslation over my conicle

Is your cooling liquid also 32f or just the keg-o-rator? I would guess on low heat transfer from the liquid to the cooling unit.

The speed you're moving the cooling liquid will make a big difference. A lot of times slowing down the flow rate will help get a better heat transfer.

I wrapped one of my conicals in tubing, but I was recircing water with an aquarium pump in a small cooler. I had 2L bottles full of ice that I swapped out once or twice a day. It held fermentation temps well but it was too small of a system to crash a vessel.
