I'm up here on campus with a bunch of wood about to start on my version of this. I've had a few false starts, and had to go back to the drawing board when my girlfriend rejected my idea of making the whole thing look like a TARDIS. I'm getting the base of the box built today, and once my tax return comes in I should be able to buy the co2 regulator, beer lines, and electronics.
Right now, the only thing I'm held up on how to do is the door for this thing, and how to rig the electronics. I pretty much need the whole front to open up, so once I get the base and frame built, I'm gonna have to play with ideas on how to get the front to come up on hinges, yet still seal well enough to maintain a decent temperature. The freezer I'm playing with is quite a bit smaller than the monster Mylo built his on, but I'll still be able to ferment 2 carboys of beer, plus have 4 kegs on tap.
If anyone out there has any information on Arduino/BrewPi/FermTroller/BrewTroller/WebControl boards hardware written in stupid-ass laymans terms, I'd really appreciate it. If I had the time to invest in really studying it, that'd be fantastic, but right now I'm doing all this in my off-time from school. It can get a little hectic.
Anyways, there's that, and I have a few other projects on the back burner, like a device to hold my wort chiller at a desired depth, a metal brew sculpture, and a stir plate (probably the easiest...and I already have the guts wired, all I have to do is get off my lazy ass and build the housing.)
I won't lie, it's a bit overwhelming, since I have a tendency to take on far too many projects at once and then have the pieces sitting around, but getting through my backlog has been satisfying. Hopefully over summer I can get a bunch of this random shit done...
