WOW!! I would love to help out those pissed off workers. I guess I might have to help out somef the local cats by offering them some homebrew in exchange.

Haven't even thought about making a kegerator that will take a sanke keg. I have 22 corny kegs right now (7 of them completely full at the moment). I don't forsee a time I will ever buy a sanke keg full of beer.

Check with scrap yards. Businesses can't just toss these into the garbage, as they are considered hazardous waste. The often PAY to have them hauled away.

These are all killer ideas. I'm going to do some digging around this weekend to see what i can find, otherwise i'll just pony up and buy a kegging kit that comes with one.

Any suggestions on an ideal size (i've heard size matters). My guess would be that i would have 2-4 kegs on tap at a time with the set-up i'm planning.

get a 10#... the inital layout is more expensive for the tank but the refills cost about the same as a 5#
with the 10# you still get reasonable portability.

Get a 20 lb tank! Too bad you are not close to me. I come up with CO2 tanks all the time. I'm in the beverage business, and often get cornys, regulators, CO2 tanks, cold plates, connects, etc for free from my customers. I have 15 20 lb tanks in my garage right now. I take them to the local CO2 place - one where they test - and get them sandblasted, painted, tested, and filled for under $30.00 each. I am looking at getting several 50 lb tanks, (for free) so I never have to haul a tank in my basement again. I also get some of the tanks filled with beer gas - 70% nitrogen, 30% CO2 for my stouts and british ales. One of my customers gave me twenty 2.5 gallon corny kegs and twelve 3 gallon kegs. What a find!
