There was a part one?!! I really do work too much

Yup...the 3/22 episode of Brew Strong. You better do something about that work thing...it's just getting in the way.

You sound like that is a joke. I could be a professional brewer by now if it wasn't for P.E.T. (Polyethylene terephthalate)

Jamil and I have had our disagreements but I don't recall anything very serious when it comes to differences in the way we bottle. And besides, if he did call me out on my uncoventional ways, I would remind him (give him a groin shot) that Gordon Strong is one of my most adamant followers. No really, I do the cobra tap thing becuase I'm lazy and I wouldn't have entered hardly any comps if I had to bring out a bunch of bottling equipment just to find beer all over my kitchen ceiling when I was finished.

I describe my "chill-flush-tilt-pour-cap" method in this thread: http://www.thebrewingnetwork.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=11232

And here's my complicated equipment:

I'm trying to understand what the issue is. If you flush the bottle with CO2 first, common air cannot get in, since the co2 is HEAVIER than the air around it. Doesn't the carbonation from the beer in the bottle fill the headspace with CO2?

The beer gun is simple to use and easy to setup once you get the hang of it. I like it better than any counter pressure filler I have used simply for the ease. Well worth the price!

I liked the beer gun a lot more than the counter pressure bottle filler but felt like when I removed the filler stem, its volume was being replaced with oxygen. That was probably just bad technique on my part.
