I'm all about the BC, great product, great value.

Is there a better mill on the market? Probably, is it worth wasting the money on? Probably not. Mine has held up great thus far and I have yet to hear anyone bitch about theirs. That's my opinion anyway.

Well, after hearing JZ talk about it and actually UNDERSTANDING the logic behind it, I want to maintain 70% efficiency. No higher. It makes sense to me. Any more and you're using less grains, more water, etc....

+1 on the Barley Crusher.

I don't have experience with any other mill, but this one works great for me. Quick and easy and I got about a 10 point bump in efficiency using the factory gap setting.

Since Monster was a guest on the show last year, I have been interested in their 2",three roller version also. I contacted Fred Francis at Monster following the show, and I am hoping to have a hopper designed for his line of mills soon. Keeping the packaging as small as possible is an issue since Monster uses a flat rate shipping box. Hopefully there will be some prototypes available for photos, and we can get them posted on Monster's site and this forum.

As for the roller size issue: the bigger rollers help feed the grain in better as a result of the more gradual lead . I currently have a Valley mill, and there are times that the rollers will just free spin, not grabbing the grain and driving the "follower" roller, so nothing is craushed.

Barley Crusher here. Someone on this forum had pictures of theirs fixed to bench or cabinet and then mounted a plastic water bottle with the bottom cut off upside down over the BC hopper...sorry I don't remmber who that was.

I get between 75-80% eff. with my Barley crusher - so you'll have to control other aspects of your process if you want to keep your efficiency below 70%.

Oh, and I love my BC... because of the price/ease of use/ can slap it right on 5gallon bucket right outta the box.

I'd probably sparge a little faster in that case. Either way, I want consistency. I'm between 68-74% on my last 4 batches.

Thanks everyone. I will probably get the BC.
