That will work great as a cask for real beer. Any idea how many gallons it holds. I see pubs using that style kegs for their beer engine setups. Usually in firkin size though.

Hey Budrockdiesel,
I have a similar keg, but one with a built-in valve at the bottom side and (had) a vent valve in the top - Golden Gate, I believe they were called. But it too has that bung hole in the side. I've cut my top off, stainless-screwed handles onto the topsides, and have a great drain valve built-in - but have only found replacement wooden bungs for that hole. The bung in your picture looks (oddly) fairly modern, as in, nylon or silicone or such. Can you supply a close up of the bung itself so I might get some of the identifiers off there and find something more reusable like that? I know, I could have it welded shut, but don't know any ss welders around here.

thanks in advance.

Hey man, sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I am sorry, I dont have a close up of the bung. I went to look for it and I must have tossed it in the trash. The company I work for has a lot of construction equipment and I had a little welding experience so I have tig welded the bung closed, but a drain collar for a ball valve, and put handles on it. I am in the process of building a burner for it that will cradle it (it dosnt sit very stable flat). A lot of people advised against it but I dont have cash coming out of my ass, I have time and free material and tool usage. Sorry about not having that bung for you.
Normal is getting dressed and driving through traffic in a car that you are still paying for, in order to get the job you need to pay for the cloths and the car and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it.
