Back on topic: I have Lake Michigan water so I just filter my water using a Britta filter. I remember from the session that if you have hard water, you can just dilute your carbon-filtered tap water with store-bought DI or distilled water. You can also boil, cool, and then siphon or strain (like BUB suggested).
