I bought some brass disconnects from http://www.mcmaster.com that were recommended by another brewer on the NB board.
They're called 'Brass Coolant Hose Couplings' and are found on page 267. Male connectors part no. 6739K59 and female hose connectors part no. 6739K64.

I have been using them for 7 months without any signs of rust.
They don't leak at all either.

I looked at the parts on McMaster. I need to make sure of something before I order.

Are you using all female QD's on tubing..and all male QD's on equipment?

Yes, males on the equipment, females on hoses.
That way you can pull the ring back on the tubing QD while removing it.
A one hand operation. You would need two hands the other way around.
Did that make sense? I've been drinking . . . . . :D

Edit: Also, make sure you clean the female QDs well before you use them.
There's some kind of lubricant inside the rings on the Fem QDs.

Operate the male equipment with one hand and then lubricate the female tubing. Hmmmm.......

the qd's I got from LOWES work fine on my system since all the male fittings are now Stainless. No Im not going to be making these for sale. I did see another set that LOWES had that didnt look as good so Im assuming thats what jawsfree was talking about. My buddy has the cool B3 QD's and with his pump his will cavitate if he rushes things. It might also be placement of the pump and if air was present in the lines before the syphon was even started.
Ive drooled over the B3 toys. im just to poo to get em.

I use brass coolant hose couplings from McMaster-Carr, P/N 6739K64, 6739K59. They can handle any temp or pressure we use and do not leak,

I just got some fitting from a local auto store, they fit a plow pump to the ram. The qd to hook up the plow. Ijust cleaned them up boiled them in viniger. i hope they work i have not brewed yet, but the hot water test running from the boil through the therminator then to the fermentor(gravity no pumps) seems to work just fine.Total cost $35.00.
