NICE!!!!

That was over engineering and thinking outside the box at its best! Very cool man. Do you still use it, and how well does it work for you? I am sure you probably have found a few mods for it, but your effort looks like a success!

I am taking apart a flip-tip thermometer cause I am a cheap ass and don't want to spend $30 on a new thermometer to monitor my wort temp. So I have it taken apart right now, and I am going to extend the probe wires, and remove the probe from the flip switch, and find a simple latching push button switch to power it. <----- Cheap ass!!! Anyway your invention looks awesome!

Keep up the good work! :pop

I've only had the opportunity to brew once since building it but it stirred the hot wort around the chiller like I hoped it would. I could basically watch the thermometer drop without having to get my lazy ass out of a chair to stir it myself. One problem I did notice was the threaded rod was chewing up the rubber grommet around the holes in the lid and the shavings were dropping into the wort. Easily fixed with some Teflon tape I would think. Also need to put a notch in my kettle lid so I can keep the stir paddle centered. Or maybe build legs to keep the lid above the height of the chiller, leaving some open space at the top to let more heat escape. Hmmmm...

Anyway, it seems to have worked and hopefully it won't fall apart on me. :P If you have a day or two to waste and $45 burning a hole in your pocket it's not a bad way to blow both.
