These can be found at MoreBeer for under $30 or even less at WalMart or Home Depot.

If your beer is too cloudy, you can put the filter cartridge back in it and use it to filter your beer. I don't think the Blichmann system can do dual duty like that.

The plastic on these filter is not rated to support hot liquids. Not sure what the actual temperature rating is, but the instructions state for use only with cold water.

My $50.00 Hop rocket. It's sitting on 6" decking boards
and it has a mounting bracket.
It was going to be a RIMS heater. It may still become one.
I can get so perfused with all the possibilities.

Can you show the top of that opened? How does it seal?

Did you add the second threaded output on the bottom?

I'm going to buy one (as clearly no one is going to give me one to evaluate) but run it upside down. I use a March pump on the cold side of my plate chiller to get a hard pull down of the hops in the hopback (they actually take up less room when wet, not more). I think it could work really well for me.

Hey Tasty - why run the chiller on the suction side of the pump?

Less cavitation and chance for HSA (if it exists).

With the pump on the hot side I don't get as much draw (suction). I guess that's a viscosity thing. In in case, I literally suck the wort through those hopback hops leaving any sort of trub in the hops. The cold break I just drop out of the bottom of the conical after waiting a half hour.
