Does anyone else use this type of a devise for washer your bottles? Is it a worthwhile purchase?

Yes and Yes.

If you reuse a lot of bottles and you don't clean them as soon as you empty them, this little thing comes in real handy getting whatever is stuck on the bottom out. I've even use it on a carboy once or twice when I had the need.

If you do a lot of bottling, I recommend investing in a bottle tree and bottle washer that sits on top of the tree. You can wash or sanitize your bottles sitting down listening to The BN and having a refreshing homebrewed beverage.

The Jet Bottle Washer was a slick addition to my brewing gear.

Pour a homebrew, hit it with the bottle washer to clean the crud from the bottom, then upside down in a case ready for sanitizing, right? WRONG!

It started with a few infected bottles in each batch and quickly spread into a full batch of infected bottles. What I found was that there were little spots all over the inside of the bottle that the jet washer wouldn't blast off.

Now, each bottle gets the brush treatment and the jet bottle washer sits unused.

I suppose a soak in PBW in conjunction with the jet washer would work just as well.

I use it for bottles, cornies, carboys, buckets, serving lines, and tubing. Handy little thing. I do wish I had two spigots on my sink so I could just leave the bottle washer attached all the time and still have a regular water stream available.

I get around that by installing a quick disconnect on my faucet. I can then quickly change from bottle washer to chiller hose to just running a bucket of water in just seconds.

I have two--one brass and one plastic. They both collect dust now since I keg most of my brews, but when I do bottle and finish one I just rinse it out with tap water immediately. My dishwasher has a sanitize cycle, so when bottling day rolls around I just put the clean bottles in upside down and let the dishwasher do the work.

I forgot to add that I do a quick rinse of my bottles right after use and when I get a dozen or so I soak them in a hot oxyclean solution for an hour or so. After soaking I rinse using that bottle washer and stick them on my bottle tree to dry before putting them away.
