Where can I find a lid for my kettle?

Wed Jun 18, 2008 1:24 pm

I bought a 14 gallon brew kettle from b3 but at the time they were out of lids for them. Now they don't stock the kettles. Does anyone know of a place selling them? I've emailed northern brewer but they won't separate lid from kettle. Or even ideas for a makeshift lid would be appreciated.

What are you using a lid on your kettle for??
If it is just chilling time use aluminum foil.

If you want to get fancy, just cut a circle out of plexiglass and stick a drawer knob in the middle. It is then easy to notch for your chiller and/or drill a hole to stick a thermometer to monitor the wort temp as it cools.

A pizza pan could work too. Same deal drill a hole and use a drawer pull from the hardware store. Or hear over to your local Wally world and see if they have something that'll work.
