I just completed my own DIY magnetic stirrer: the STIR-MATICâ„¢ 3000:

Very nice. I've been working on mine as well. Looks like we have the exact same enclosure. I'm hoping to finish mine next month. I did use a voltage regulator in addition to the rheostat.

I should have patented that stirplate 4 years ago when I designed it. I had no idea this many people would copy it.... :D
