cheap quick disconnects

Mon Apr 21, 2008 12:05 pm

i got an email last week with a coupon for garden hose disconnects for like 5 bucks a pack (4 males, 2 females) from harbor freight. figured i couldn't go wrong at that price so i bought 2 packs.

after i took them out of the package they looked pretty cheap (these were from harbor freight) and didn't seem to seat very well.

but i gave them a try. those things worked like a charm! not a drip all day! my rig is already set up for hose connections so all i did was screw on the QD's, just hand tight, no teflon or anything.

i'm heading over there this week to get another pack or two.

Howdy,

I had QDs at work and bought a few for the spigots on the house. When I started brewing I needed more. I fell for the cheap price on the Harbor Freight disconnects last year.
The set I got sucked. They didn't fit well and dripped bad. Good for the garden but not so good for the brewery.
I got some nice ones at Menards and they work great.
My .02 but just a heads up.
