Making some stir plates :)

Thu Mar 29, 2007 9:25 am

I've made a couple of stir plates in the last week. A single and a double. I'm pretty happy with how they work. They will probably mainly get used to mix dyes for the wife's biz, but I'll be making at last a couple more for me.

Some pics of the single plate...

The next project is going to be a 6 stir plate in one box powered by a old computer power supply.

Without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer. Oh, I grant you that the wheel was also a fine invention, but the wheel does not go nearly as well with pizza.

The problem I have found when multiple plates is each time you turn another plate it draws power from the others. It starts to become a balancing act to get them to run properly.

Sorry it took me so long to respond. Don't know how I missed answering my own thread

25ohm 3watt rheostat. That was what Eric Beer's article said to use and I don't know enough about this stuff to start changing things.
