I bought a stir plate that is probably older than I am and it worked great on my first bratch. I took it apart to clean it up and noticed it uses a cable to spin all the magnets. the machine did not work perfectly at first but now I have both the stirrers and heaters working. With this batch I just used the stirer with no heat but next batch Ill probably boil my water on it too since it can heat up to 400 C!
I got it on ebay for 49 bucks and another 50 for shipping. The nice thing I like is it has 4 spots for beakers.
