I usually treat things (the hard to take apart stuff) as a CIP system. Running PBW through the system. I do still take everything apart on a regular basis and clean things and reinstall. Cleaning up right after the brew helps alot by not letting the stuff dry into a hard crust.

I do have an advantage, I use an ultrasonic cleaner that I use w/ PBW for all my small parts. (gets beer glasses really clean too :D ) I got this one from my office when I put in a larger unit.

Here is one I found on ebay to give an idea of what it is. This one is larger than the one I use and I think it's over priced. You should be able to find a cheaper, nice, used unit if you were to look harder.
