It will work, but you may run into other issues that you may need to learn to work around. If you're into cloning/using other recipes you'll have a more difficult time dialing them at first. Which wouldn't concern me at all, but to some it might. On the flip side you'll be using far less energy compared to a more 'traditional' kettle geometry. Either way you look at it, it beats the pants off having a 8g kettle with that batch size.
