I recently picked up a used fridg that I am going to convert to a kegerator, and use my chest freezer for ferm. I live in Minnesota and my basement is cold as you may imagine. I have this: http://www.northernbrewer.com/brewing/b ... ostat.html Can I just use a heating pad or lizard rock run through my controller to keep the temps up? Will my existing controller function like that? Thanks guys/gals and guygals
If it doesn't work in heating mode, you'll need to get a different thermostat. You can buy reptile thermostats that are much cheaper than the thermostats sold to brewers.
