Dude, I scored a 14 CF chest freezer that was almost brand new for $50 on craigs list. The deals are out there. You might have to only search for a couple weeks for a great deal. I highly recommend a chest freezer for fermentation/lagering/serving. They are super efficient, and don't spill out all the coldness when you lift the lid. It is a little more difficult to lift a carboy in and out, but it's definitely worth it.
