Any advice on commercial sculptures?

Thu Jun 26, 2008 6:41 am

My wife may be letting me get into the big time soon, and I want to do it up right. I have absolutely zero technical skill for building my own set-up. I'm currently brewing with the 10 gallon Igloo cooler set-up and doing fine, but I want the bling! This is a huge load (don't even say it...) of money and I nead to know how well these things work and if there are any glaring problems any of the more popular models. Obviously the Morebeer sculptures and probably the Sabco are the ones I've been checking out. I'm leaning toward the single level since I'm not so great with heights/don't like ladders greater than 2-3 steps.
Any advice from folks who own these things??

Have you checked out the MoreBeer forums yet? They have a forum dedicated to their sculptures, so you could probably get some good information from people that own those, and maybe some of them have done their research before they bought theirs and can tell you what to look for, etc.

As for me, I'm using Igloo coolers and will probably never have a commercial sculpture - I just get the catalogs and drool over them like they're porn. :D

I don't own one. I built my own ghetto system that looks like something JP would build after eating a pound of shrooms.

I saw the Sabco BrewMagic system at NHC. I wanted to have sex with it. I've never seen a morebeer 2100 up close, but I'm sure I'd feel the same way about it.

Hmm,, good point. I'll do that. But I trust the BN Army...
And what is up with the squirrels? I apparently don't visit the forum enough...

Go back and listen to the July 22, 2007 (I think) show.

7/22/07 has to rank up there with the best of the best. Not only does it have the squirrel story but wasn't it the first Inna-Gadda-Da-Vida use for drunk of the week? Good thing I listened to that one at home and not in the car.
