Pics of My Brew stand

Fri Aug 07, 2009 12:03 am

I thought I might show some pictures of my brew stand, I made it last month and it now has 4 brews on it. Both the MLT and the kettle are gas fired, HLT is electric

Image
it is a 5 gallon system, could probably push it to 10 but still dialling it in atm, so sticking with 5.

Image
pics of the two burners, they are a bit sooty, going to mod the bottom of my kegs to try to reduce the soot.

Image
The burners were cut of of this commercial cooktop and mounted in my frame

Image
HLT is Electric, about to got to a PID conroller on the HLT soon.

Image
Runs off a 9kg gas bottle, so far has 5 brews and bottle is still going

Image
running a counterflow chiller, I am going to mod my kettle to make counterflow feed into a whirloolin the kettle. I am also going to run a water cooler before the chiller too.

Turning out some pretty good beer on this gear, although I am still dialling it in
Got 8 beers going into a comp next week, so i will see how they go

Nice setup there. Any reason your HLT is electric? Also i just put together a Brutus Replica and skimped on buying stainless. Used mild steel instead and decided to powder coat it using heat resistant powder.... Welllll, it didnt work out so well. What did you coat your frame with? looks like it can take the heat/baked on junk...

Sneakers, my frame is mild steel also and is just painted in an rust enamel, it has scortched the paint under the tun and kettle but has not burned off yet. only 5 brews on this one though. HLT is electric only for simplicity, I can dial in a temp and water will sit at that temp till I am ready
