barleydog stand - Oktoberfest brew day

My stand looks a lot like Push Eject's stand. I had a similar design and then realized that his work work better for me. I had it built a year ago and love it. I am going to be adding a pump soon, March 809-HS-BR and hopefully building some sort of control panel. The Jamil style whirlpool chiller is also a must.

I was brewing an Oktoberfest (2 weeks ago). My brew assistant was late so my 11 month old Akita puppy named Barley helped out. I just need to know who much of his hair to add to the mash. Is it determined by pounds of grain or just by the handful? He has plenty of fur to spare!

Current beer: Kolsch just ran out. Brewing
a marzen next. I guess it is a German kick.

Yep, nice. Akitas, being a cold weather dog, have fur that is perfecty adapted to lagers. Great, since you're brewing an Oktoberfest! I'd use a handfull. Use less for ales. You'll be making "Steam Dog Beer" (tm) using Akita fur at ale fermentation tempertures.

Steam Dog Beer sounds great. We of course will work out the royalties on the name.

You'll have to talk to Fritz. That's his TM.
