Squirrel taste like chicken.

I'm like TimC, Igloo coolers baby! The only part I hate is that because I use gravity, I have to pick up 6-7 gallons of hot wort, walk up 2 steps and put it at a higher level. One day, that practice will f me up good.

I too, would love to buy one of the sculptures, but I think I may first see if I can get a local welder to make the gravity model.

I'm a SABCO owner, and I really love it. I've also been an active member of the B3 board for the last few years, and it's clear to me that B3 makes an excellent product that's made many owners very happy. Your choice is going to come down to personal preference, as both companies make great systems.

If you have any questions about the SABCO system, PM me. I'll give you every last detail on it's strengths and weaknesses.

I don't have one yet but within a year I'll own a Sabco. Then I'll have sex with it...err brew with it everyday. Course I'll have to quit my job to stay home with my Sabco. Got to have your priorities in line.

i have a b3 1550 that i am thrilled with. i too saw the sabco at the nhc, and it was nice, but missing one very very key thing for me: the automatic hlt temp thing. its so nice to 'set it and forget it'. with the sabco it tells you that you need to turn the gas on if the temp gets low in your hlt, but it doesn't do it automatically for you, you have to turn it on and light it.

i, like jamil, brew during the week when i work, and its nice to not have to babysit.

Tha Sabco only monitors the mash temp, not the HLT temp. You have to visually monitor the HLT temp. That is a pain-in-the-ass with the Sabco. I solved that by installing a 1000W bucket heater and a Ranco on my HLT for <$100.

I have a B3-2000 that I bought 2 years ago. I've been totally thrilled with the performance. Brewing is a true pleasure on it. The only options I went for were: wheelbarrow, SMART no brass, float switch, full stainless 3-piece valves. I do single infusion mashes, so I didn't feel the need for any hifalutin digital controls. The money I saved went towards a pair of Blichmann conicals. I normally brew 13 gallon batches, so having the extra headroom in the mashtun is awesome for when I brew super high gravity brews. I've fit 65# of grain in there with ease. I've heard of some people doing as much as 75#.
