One would think that powder coating should with stand the temps of the heat from the burners. Powder coating is used in many high temp applications. Perhaps, someone with a better knowledge of powder coating temps will chime in.

I powder coat electric motors for a living, next time the powder coat supplier rep stops in I'll ask him

There is standard powdercoating and there is high temp stuff. I've heard some bad brew sculpture powdercoating stories that I presume weren't with temperature rated stuff.

I just bought some spray paint from a fireplace and wood burning stove store. It is rated to 1100 degrees F. Now I'm wondering, is there high temp primer?
Aging: Gotlandsdrickå, Baltic Porter in Bourbon barrel, Olde Ale #2 in whiskey barrel
On Draft: Nothing. Building a walk-in cooler right now.

I asked this same question on another forum - I almost used regular primer under my hi-temp paint on the bare steel of my rig,
but someone said it would bubble under the hi temp stuff -

then I found this - http://www.stovepaint.com/Products/Products.asp?ID=23

looks like it is for stoves - not sure what the temp rating is... I should have used this first!

cheers
