the only thing i wish my 1550 had was a bigger kettle. it only holds about 12gallons, which isn't enough. if you want to end up with 10gallons to the fermentor you need at least 12 gallons preboil. problem is with a 12 gallon pot, there is no room for foam or any kind of boil, so i find myself sparging the last bit into a bucket, and adding it periodically during the boil when there is enough room.
i think it needs at least a 15g pot, maybe even 18g so you don't have to worry about boilover.
