So when can we hear some interviews from the PNW?

Mon May 24, 2010 9:20 am

BN has been around for awhile now and still no PNW interviews. I sent Chad a show idea after a brewery asked me about my sweatshirt at a beer fest and they sounded interested. I gave the guy info and told him I'd email the producer of the show as well to let him know someone was interested. But I never heard back. That was only 1 suggestion, but there's so many more other breweries here, I dunno why you guys haven't looked into any of them.

You mean specifically Washington. There have been plenty of NorCal and Oregon breweries on, but never a Washington Brewery. I agree, it's time one makes it on the show! We're a top tier craft brew state along with Cali and Oregon, we need representation! :jnj

Washington breweries + businesses that could make for a good interview:

Black Raven: 1yr old, kicking ass on an international scale with awards, bad ass barrel program, Andy's hilarious, 15bbl system and they can barely make enough to serve their own taproom because everything sells out so quick, their cask program is ridiculous and unique

Chuckanut: Small brewpub of the year at GABF last year in their first year of business, all lager brewery, Will Kemper (owner) is a veteran of the craft brewing movement, and has helped open up breweries all over the world

Big Al's: Awesome brewery that comes out with a new beer every month. Has a "local hero" program where they brew and distribute a new homebrewer's beer every 3 months

Brouwer's: One of the most ridiculously awesome beer bars in the nation, if not the world. Tons of unique events

Naked City: Very unique brewpub with some amazing specialty beers

Finnriver Farm: All organic, sustainable farm that just started their own hard cider lineup. all made from apples grown on premise, uses champagne method for bottling. now growing all ingredients for beer, and plan to start brewing beer from on-site grown ingredients. young, passionate owners / operators.

Big Al's was represented in a show from the NHC last year.

Chad is in talks with Black Raven I believe.

Last I spoke with Naked City they were just getting going with the brewery so I waited until things were in full swing, which I think they are now.

So don't worry, it's already in the works. What you folks don't realize when requesting breweries is that we are generally not the deciding party. You would be amazed at home many e-mails and phone calls are ignored by breweries when called for interview opportunities. Many times the very names of folks you would like to hear just don't respond.

No worries J, we know it's not as easy as it sounds. Just thought I'd put in my .02 cents with some suggestions. Maybe I'll go give Beaux and Andy a kick in the ass when I go pick up my yeast tomorrow. :jnj

Maybe some "consumer demand" from the local BN Army representatives would help?

I can't imagine Black Raven not wanting to do the show. They comment on my hat or hoodie almost everytime I go in there.

They're just crazy busy. They just need to chill for a bit, and treat themselves to an hour break to chill, drink, and call in.
